The oil and natural gas industry is becoming an increasingly safer place to work, despite a job environment that often involves heavy equipment, hazardous materials, high temperatures and high pressure equipment. This is reflected by a declining rate of illnesses and injuries – a rate much lower than that for the private sector as a whole.
