Safe and Healthy Facilities
Maintaining the health of our natural environment is a central concern of the oil and natural gas industry. So is and maintaining the health of our human environment; we work hard to protect the health and safety of our workers and of our neighbors in the communities in which we operate.

Safe and getting safer
Job-related illnesses and injuries are much less frequent in the oil and natural gas industry than in the U.S. private sector as a whole—and the industry is becoming even safer. All segments of our industry follow rigorous safety standards, maintaining and improving an already outstanding safety record.

Keeping communities informed
The oil and natural gas industry participates in a voluntary program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that inventories and evaluates the hazards associated with certain chemicals used or produced by all American industries (not limited to the oil and gas industry). The information gathered by EPA and the industry is made available to the public.
