API Chapter 11.1, Volume Correction Factors
The API has joined forces with Flow-Cal Inc. to develop, market, and support the Chapter 11.1 code (Temperature and Pressure Volume Correction Factors for Generalized Crude Oils, Refined Products, Special Applications, and Lubricating Oils). This information is available in equations relating volume to pressure which contains physical data that has direct application to volumetric measurement of liquid hydrocarbons. API Suggested Diesel Pump Labels
The new federal requirements taking effect this year for producing diesel fuel with a far lower sulfur content has clearly led to many changes in the refining process, and with them have come changes in a number of API standards. API has developed a set of labels for dispensers, approved by the EPA, to provide customers with information about the applicability of the new diesel fuel. Download the new labels.
API WorkSafe: API’s New Service Station Contractor Qualification Program
API has established a contractor safety training and qualification program: API WorkSafe. This voluntary program will provide a common, uniform approach to establishing an individual’s qualifications and a foundation of safety requirements for service contractors working at the retail facility of any company in the maintenance and construction trades. This third-party training and qualification program provides a uniform set of requirements, a consistent approach, and simplifies the question of knowledge and compliance.
